One of the safest phone brands to buy in India. Galaxy S phones are top flagships with great screens and cameras, and even Galaxy A phones now get six years of updates. Budget M and F phones are dependable but plainer; our reviews score them lower than the S series. The main catch is the short 1-year warranty.

- Quality: 8/10 — Galaxy S phones are very well built and finished. Budget models are dependable but plainer.
- Customer service: 7/10 — Pick-up and drop repairs, online appointments, WhatsApp support and chat in regional languages. We have not measured repair times.
- Warranty: 6/10 — 12 months on the handset and battery is the normal minimum; nothing extra is included.
- Availability: 9/10 — Made in Noida and sold everywhere; second-biggest phone brand by shipments in 2026.
- Brand reputation: 8/10 — Nearly 30 years in India and a top-two phone brand. The 2016 Note7 battery recall was handled with a full worldwide recall.
- Camera quality: 8/10 — Galaxy S cameras hold fine detail and clean night shots. Budget models are fine in daylight and average at night.
- Battery life: 8/10 — Every Samsung phone we reviewed clears a full day; the budget M17e runs well past it.
- Performance: 8/10 — Galaxy S phones are among the fastest phones; budget models handle daily use and light gaming.
- Software support: 10/10 — Seven Android upgrades on Galaxy S and six years on Galaxy A from A16 onwards: the longest support on Android.
- Display quality: 9/10 — Sharp, bright AMOLED screens on Galaxy S that stay readable in sunlight. Some budget models use lower resolution panels.
Warranty
Handset 12 months, battery 12 months, charger and cable 6 months. A phone found faulty within 14 days of activation can be taken to an authorised service centre with the box and all accessories.
Service
Book pick-up and drop for repairs, or an online appointment for priority at the service centre. Samsung publishes spare part prices on its support site.
