Guide10 take

A camera made for people who film themselves, not for photo hobbyists. The 14-30mm power zoom is wide enough for arm's length vlogs, and it zooms smoothly while you record. 4K comes from 6K, so video looks sharp, and 10-bit gives room to fix colours. The flip-out screen, tally lamp, mic input and headphone jack make solo shoots easy. There is no viewfinder or in-body stabilisation. Buy it to move up from a phone for YouTube or reels.

Goods

• Wide 14 mm lens fits you and the background when filming at arm's length
• Power zoom moves smoothly while recording, with no jerks
• Sharp 4K from 6K oversampling, with 10-bit for better colour editing
• Tally lamp, mic input and headphone jack make solo filming easy
• Records up to 2 hours of 4K in one go

Bads

• Small LP-E17 battery runs down fast in 4K, so carry a spare
